MeDirect’s wide range of investment funds offers many advantages. You can compare funds, discover solutions for almost any exposure, and access the most renowned fund managers. This is the strength of open architecture.
However, a wide range can be overwhelming. Need a list of more limited options to make investment decisions yourself? We also take care of that at MeDirect: we use our knowledge and expertise to offer a selection of investment funds in multiple categories, such as European equities or mixed funds.
How do we establish the MeDirect Fund Selection? Per category, MeDirect compares funds based on both quantitative and qualitative elements. This way, we can offer one or more solutions in various categories.
1. As a first step, MeDirect excludes funds with, for example, too low assets under management, less than 3 years of performance history, and fewer than three Morningstar stars.
2. In a second phase, MeDirect scores all funds within a category. We assess how the funds have performed over the long and short term relative to each other. Additionally, we look at other measurable criteria, such as: did the fund outperform its index? Did the fund manager perform better than others during downturns?
3. But MeDirect goes beyond the numbers: through a qualitative analysis, we examine how the results were achieved, who the fund manager is, and whether certain data give us confidence for the future. We also ensure that funds within a particular category can be complementary.
